The Church Alliance protects the benefits of faith leaders. Faith leaders, and local churches, movements or organizations, pay it forward and give back within their community.
Thanks to the volunteers at Historic Trinity Lutheran Church, many homeless inner-city residents have access to food and other necessities.
Every Monday through Saturday Trinity Lutheran Church’s “soup window” serves between 50 and 100 people daily and has been operational for more than 20 years. Each meal includes a hot soup or sandwich, fruit, snack crackers or cookies, hot coffee and a bottle of water. They also hand out clothing, toiletries and sewing kits to those in need.
In addition, Trinity helps sponsor a “clean team” made up of men served by a local homeless shelter who work in the early morning hours to beautify their neighborhood. It also has a utility assistance program to help families who have received disconnect notices.
