Our Stories

The Church Alliance protects the benefits of faith leaders. Faith leaders, and local churches, movements or organizations, pay it forward and give back within their community.

Access to fresh produce is a challenge for most low-income families. One church is now the largest producer of fruits and vegetables in its community so that families can put them on their tables.

St. John’s Lutheran Church established the Mission Farm in 2009 to supply the Napa County Food Bank, county residents and other charitable organizations with produce that is locally and organically grown.

The fruits and vegetables are distributed to families who face persistent anxiety about accessing food. This mission is carried out on three surplus acres adjacent to the church and school. Last year the church delivered more than 20,000 pounds of fresh produce to the local foodbank.
