The Church Alliance protects the benefits of faith leaders. Faith leaders, and local churches, movements or organizations, pay it forward and give back within their community.
Pension Boards / United Church of Christ responded to the rising costs and demands of theological education by creating the Ministers Financial Vitality Initiative (MFVI) to increase and improve financial wellness among United Church of Christ (UCC) authorized ministers.
Rev. Michelle Wilkey, who serves David’s United Church of Christ, confesses that she’s never really been good at managing finances. Prior to joining the Pension Boards’ MFVI in 2020, she didn't consider herself to be very proactive when it came to better managing her finances. Rev. Michelle has now taken steps to improve her financial literacy.
"MFVI has helped me develop more awareness around my finances. I was able to change my narrative and become someone who is better with money. MFVI taught me the importance of continuing to gain financial literacy… I now have more hope in the future where it concerns my finances, and I thank MFVI for that." –Rev. Michelle Wilkey
